What do I get if I join the HVMC?
You mean besides a world-class music education? 5% discounts to Root Note Music in New Paltz, access to our weekly Jam Sessions at Cafeteria in New Paltz, and access to Master Classes and Workshops. We’ll also help book you your first concert!

What levels of instruction do you teach?
We teach ALL levels on any instrument we offer. Everything from a three-chord folk song to the Queen of the Night’s Aria in The Magic Flute.

How much are lessons, and can I purchase gift certificates?
Our instructors all charge on a sliding scale that starts at $45/Lesson, which typically lasts 45 minutes. You can also buy 3 lesson bundles at 40$/Lesson. Where are the lessons and events held?
We teach in the comfortable setting of your own home, the instructor’s home studio, or one of our several satellite locations held throughout the Mid-Hudson Valley.The events are held at our several satellite locations, including the Rosendale Coop in Rosendale and Cafeteria in New Paltz.

Can we hire you for private events or weddings?
Yes! We can help put together the band/artists that works best for you. Click on the “Live Music” tab above for more information.

Upcoming Events


The Hudson Valley Music Collective offers private lessons in voice, piano, guitar, drums, bass, saxophones/reeds, violin, and more from some of the region's most talented and sought after music teachers. Our teachers hold lessons in New Paltz, Kingston, Saugerties, and more, either at their home studios, or in your home. And when you sign up as a student with the HV Music Collective, you'll have access to monthly jam sessions where students can put their new skills to use, and workshops on music topics ranging from mic techniques to music history.
